From the XO's chair:
It still seems weird, sitting here and someone's missing; but it's just like we said before... Doomslayer is still here. We are still flying. Yes, we have been hurt from our losses, but we are not beaten. "For just as mere life is not victory, mere death is not defeat. And in the next world i shall kill the foe a thousand times, laughing, undefeated." That is the spirit of the Doomslayer, for no matter what is thrown at us, we just keep coming back.
For the next quarter, the crew of the Doomslayer will be more active than they have been in some time. However, right now, we would have it no other way. On 12 May, 2012, we are planning an informal away mission at the New Town Mall in New Philadelphia, OH, in honor of our Chief Enginer's Birthday. The ships company will gather to attend a movie of Commander Bastian's choice and the time will be announced closer to the mission date.
On 9 June, 2012 is the annual IKV Doomslayer Picnic at Tuscora Park in New Philadelphia, Ohio. This year's picnic will be in memory of our departed ship mates, Chancellor Klaad and Admiral Konnor. All who can attend are invited to join us. Festivities will begin at 11:am. The crew of the Doomslayer will supply a main course (fried chicken) and we ask everyone else to bring a side item or two, whatever you wish, to share. Please bring your own beverages, or they may be purchased at the park concession stand. If you plan on attending, just let us know in advance so we have an idea of how many will be coming.
On 14 July, 2012, the IKV Doomslayer returns to the Bread Head Bakery in Dover, OH for a general meeting. As always, we welcome anyone in Fandom or anyone interested in fandom to attend. This crew is always on the hunt for new recruits.
